Yes Malaysia, you should feel so ashamed by getting this off of Berita Harian. I don't know what kind of mentality this cartoonist possesses, either he feels that this is somewhat hilarious, or this is somewhat just a plain, meaningless piece of art, or he's completely detached from his humanity side. Either way, this is one sick joke made by one sick bastard. Pardon my language please.
But seeing how the Japanese are struggling with not just an 8.9 magnitude earthquake that precipitated tsunami not long after, countless of aftershocks with a scale of 6.0 magnitude, and the fear of nuclear reactors explosions that might cause radioactive leaks, thousands of fatalities and thousands are still gone missing, all these should be apparent enough that any kind of sick, weird, nonsensical, moronic jokes are indeed, not welcomed by the society. If you wish to join this international community in serving those who are in need right now by any means, either monetary or non-monetary, please leave this kind of heartless, low-mentality value out at the front of your door, please. If not, even through the back door, we do not welcome you.
I'm sorry. For those who try to justify this action and splat it right in front of my face, all I'm hearing would be yada yada yada. What is that about they deserved this because of what they'd done to us long ago? For fuck sake, there is NO acceptable, comprehensible justification for such moronic action; an action that'd make other countries undermine Malaysia in the future, or we should consider that this kind of action would backlash us anytime soon - this joke was made a CNN news, as a matter of fact. Very politically counterproductive, no?
I'm not talking as an anti-nationalist who turned my back against my country just because I'm living in the UK at the moment. I've came to my senses awhile ago that it is not my country that I hate, but the people who've tarnished its name with their long-standing selfishness that dovetailed with their arrogance; the type of people that because of their ineptitudes in leading this country, makes the weight of the burden to be borne by the people and this kind of continuous, never-ending narrative that is the leitmotif of everyday stories, happening sourly in our country. But do not make me hate the people by behaving in a ridicule way like this. Do not squelched Malaysia's good name, do not be someone that when you're incapable of helping hence you say some dirty words to make yourself look better or to feel better. Be vocal, but for good causes only. I do not want to see our generation to be ill-willed towards the others. And I'm not being emotional, I'm just stating that this is the right thing to do, flat out.
Quoted from someone when I posted this on my facebook:
wow. when prophet p.b.u.h. was drawn, it's "freedom of speech". when ultraman is running away from tsunami, we back western media that label such act as 'insensitive' ? fyi, never really a BH or utusan meloya reader.Let me rectify my objections towards this behavior. It is not, by any mean, I backed the Western media. This is an unaffiliated subject, and I'm standing independently from tending to any labelled media. I'm just solely against such action to be committed/exercised by Malaysians. I'm trying to resonate my message under the name of humanity, the feeling of empathy and sympathy towards those who've been struck by this disastrous tragedy, and a sense of morality as the supplementary subject. We should be thankful enough that we're not given a first-hand experience like those unfortunate ones, so lets just BEHAVE and pray for their safety or make some donations if we feel like stepping further ahead in helping them.
If Malaysians continue to opt behaving this way, attitudinal shift is recommended by us; the ones that are still keeping a close contact with our senses. We shouldn't abandoned humanity, especially at this period of time. Malaysians are so much better than this.
P/S: There is no malice intended for any of what I've said just now.
